Jeannie graduated magna cum laude from George Mason University with a degree in Social Work and has nearly 20 years of related work experience. She grew up in Richmond, Virginia and spent much of her early adult life in Northern Virginia.
Though she joined the firm in 2013, Jeannie’s first association with us was as a client. Jeannie sought our guidance in 2010 as she navigated the complex responsibilities entrusted to her as the Legal Guardian and Conservator for her grandparents. As such, she personally understands the significance of sufficient Estate Planning and the potentially devastating consequences when a plan is absent. She is sensitive to the unique needs of our clients because she has had firsthand experience as a client herself. Jeannie is an active elder advocate and often speaks on the issues of Elder Abuse and Alzheimer’s disease. She has published several pieces regarding these issues as well. To learn more about her experience advocating for her grandparents, please visit her blog, “My Journal; Their Journey.”
Jeannie lives in Charlottesville with her two children and her husband, Chuck Coder. They share their home with a spoiled feline affectionately known as Henry Beau. Jeannie's step-daughter attends UVA which allows them to spend time with her regularly. While Jeannie loves to travel, she is a homebody at heart. She enjoys hosting friends and family, DIY projects, cooking, attending concerts, writing, and cheering on the WAHOOS!
